Expertise
Franklin has 25 years of combined in-house and law firm intellectual property law experience. His practice focuses on strategic IP development and management, patent preparation and prosecution, patent infringement and validity analyses, due diligence reviews, and IP agreement drafting.
Franklin has technical expertise in a wide range of computer-related technologies, including wireless and wired networks, cloud computing, machine learning, mobile devices and applications, consumer electronics, UI/UX, computer architecture, storage systems and semiconductors.
Prior to law school, Franklin worked as a computer design engineer at a venture capital-backed startup company where he was member of the design team for a high-performance microprocessor.
Prior to joining Patent Law Works, Franklin worked at several leading technology companies and law firms in Silicon Valley, where his responsibilities included IP strategy, portfolio management, patent prosecution, invention mining, standards-essential patent development, and litigation and transaction support. Franklin worked as in-house patent counsel at Citrix, Huawei Technologies, Samsung Electronics, and Seagate Technologies. He also has previous experience working at Am Law 100 law firms as an attorney at McDermott Will & Emery and Weil, Gotshal & Manges.
