Expertise
Hoang-chi focuses on domestic and international trademark counseling. She advises clients on trademark selection, registration, and enforcement worldwide, including prosecuting and maintaining U.S. and foreign applications, representing clients in opposition and cancellation proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, and negotiating trademark assignments, coexistence, and settlement agreements. She also counsels clients on internet issues and disputes, including domain disputes before the World Intellectual Property Organization and the National Arbitration Forum.
Hoang-chi represents clients in a wide variety of fields, including those in clothing, food and beverage, computer software, gaming, telecommunications, social networking, and pharmaceuticals.
Hoang-chi is a member of the International Trademark Association (serving on various committees), San Francisco Intellectual Property Law Association (having been its president in 2007-2008), and Vietnamese American Bar Association of Northern California (having been its president in 2014). Prior to joining Patent Law Works, Hoang-chi was an associate with Fenwick & West LLP and intellectual property boutique Burns, Doane, Swecker, & Mathis, LLP.
